KYRA GORDON + MAKE NO BONES

Saturday February 1st

If you wandered into a Kyra Gordon show, you’d be struck by the powerful vocals, deft touch on the keyboard, and command of the room. Watching her perform original songs with disarmingly personal lyrics, punctuated with spoken tales from her extensive travels, you’d feel the conviction of a singer, songwriter, and storyteller with a firm grasp of her creative voice, an artist who has arrived. Gordon has performed nationally and internationally; recognized for her recent work all over the Bay Area, she is well known to audiences for ‘Loving Janis,’ a one woman show she created as a tribute to two of her formative influences, Janis Joplin and Janis Ian. Her debut album ‘Soul Of A Showgirl’ garnered rave reviews for its incisive lyrics and beguiling melodies. It received national airplay and charted #1 on the RMR’s top 50 Americana Country Albums in Aug ‘22. She is headed into her seventh national house concert tour, and her upcoming sophomore release ‘Traveler’ is out everywhere this November.

DEVEREUX SCALES + SIX LEGS

Friday February 7th

Devereux Scales:

Devereux Scales features former members of SF Bay Area bands Fake French, Passing Lanes, Geisha Boys, and Los Angeles' George Glass. Their sound is replete with shadowy, reverb-drenched guitars, pulsating rhythms, and introspective lyrics. All echoing the spirit of the band's shoegaze, post-punk, and indie rock heredity.

SIX LEGS

08:00 PM - 12:00 AM

VERTIACYN ARC MATERIALIZER + MUTT + TV1984

Saturday February 8th

VERTACYN ARC MATERIALIZER- Psychedelic art-rock band Vertacyn Arc Materializer is based in the San Francisco Bay Area of Earth (Sol III, Terra, C-53). The anxiety of Talking Heads, the despondent drones of Flipper, the awkward electronica of Radiohead, the parallel-universe insanity of Butthole Surfers. Live shows include narrated kodachrome slide projector presentations and beaten trash can lids superposed with stressful pop hooks and vanishingly quiet chaos.

MUTT- Turns out Mutt is a pretty popular band name, but we are obviously the best Mutt!. Based out of San Francisco, the group lands somewhere between the sonic lines of punk, grunge, power pop, and those obscure yet cool bands you would see on MTV's 120 Minutes in the early '90s one time before the channel never played it again. Whatever they're doing, M.U.T.T. always have an eye on the aforementioned melodic hook.

TV1984- A band created by Sammy Salazar and Steve Moriarty. Drums, bass, and you. Total improvisation.

JL STILES

Sunday February 23rd

JL Stiles is a unique animal who for the first time is merging two totally different fields of truth seeking: Ragtime blues and higher mathematics.  Both of these disparate strands filtered through a lifetime on the run, searching for a universal truth from psychedelic Brazilian forests to US college campuses and further into his own unique vision.  JL Stiles has a mind that sees music in a similar way to how J.S. Bach saw music.  However, Bach never played the blues. As for the blues: JL has opened for many a blues great, including BB King, Etta James and JJ Cale.  Surprisingly, looking at such a history, most of his originals would not be considered blues or folkways yet Maybelle Carter, Blind Blake and the rest of his honored forebears haunt everything he does, including his upcoming song-of-the-ages album, JL Stiles presents House of Murmurs, on which producer Etienne de Rocher (Sean Hayes) plied his remarkable talents.  It's a bit confounding to box a one-off like JL, so the artist decided to mostly reserve his stunning ragtime and blues guitar madness for his other band, Hobo Paradise, which tears the house down regularly in San Francisco.

07:00 PM - 10:00 PM
