The MOJO MESSENGERS are a group of friends who have been playing live music together around the Bay Area since 2011. We’ve recently appeared at venues such as The Starry Plough, the Ashkenaz and the Art House in Berkeley, the Stork Club and Monaghans in Oakland, the Fireside Lounge in Alameda, as well as regular performances at Brewsters in Petaluma and Riggers Loft Winery in Point Richmond.

Now, having played for Chef Tony at the Blackstar Pirate BBQ in San Pablo last October, we are thrilled to be back in Point Richmond for the first time at the Baltic Kiss.

Our band is known for putting on a show that gets people up to have fun and dance, party and sing along with us! We play the classic rock hits of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s by our favorite artists, including the Pretenders, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha, Santana, Credence Clearwater, the Rolling Stones, and more….plus, we’ll throw in one of our original songs from time to time.

Dave Johnson on guitar and Brad Blemker on drums have been members of popular Bay Area bands since the early 90’s, including Rhythm Method and Damn Denial, appearing at numerous clubs, bars, dives and private parties in San Francisco, Marin and the East Bay. Nicki Shaw first joined us as a member of Damn Denial, and has taken on lead singer duties with the Messengers. Phil Haves comes to us from the Berkeley band The Q – and before that, playing bass with bands all the way back to his punk days in 80’s England. Fred Bauman on keyboards was rockin’ with groups in SoCal until we were able to pry him away to join the band in 2018.
