Dave & Ray’s Magic Record Shoppe is a unique musical duo from San Francisco playing psychedelic Americana, rootsy pop, R&B, and bossa-flavored originals, as well as eclectic covers by Elton John, America, Harry Styles, The Beatles, Bob Marley, and more. Bay Area music scene veterans Dave Ridnell and Ray Wilcox first met 30 years ago but only recently reconnected in 2023 to join musical forces.
Dave led the funk/R&B band Gilded Splinters for years and in 2019 his duo Coelho & Ridnell’s debut album “Sunny Day” achieved international success, garnering major radio play and an award as one of the top 10 Brazilian-flavored albums in Japan for the year. Ray has led numerous popular Bay Area bands including: !Tang, Zircus, The Latrelles, Shade, and Orphan Town, sharing bills in top venues with artists such as Chicago, Cypress Hill, and the Funky Meters. His songwriting skills and stage presence have been praised by numerous elite members of the American entertainment industry.
