Flamenco Vivo

Flamenco guitarists, David Gutierrez, and Jesse Torre are Flamenco Vivo, a collaboration of flamenco dancers, singers, and guitarists with decades of experience performing throughout the bay area, and beyond. The art of Flamenco has found an enthusiastic following among the diverse cultures and ethnic groups that make the bay area so artistically rich.

"¡Flamenco Vivo! was first organized in the late 1980s by dancer Sara Ayala and guitarist David Gutierrez, drawing on a community of flamenco aficionados and professional performing artists that has thrived in the Bay Area for over a century.
Along with artists from leading companies such as Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco, Arte Flamenco de San Jose, and Rosa Montoya’s Bailes Flamencos, they performed at venues throughout the Bay Area and beyond for close to two decades. Sara, while no longer performing, maintains an active teaching schedule, and has inspired a passionate and loyal student following.

David Gutierrez continues to teach and perform, and has recently begun a collaboration with guitarist Jesse Torre. Together they have organized a first-ever flamenco performance at a noteworthy new venue for live music in the East Bay. The landmark Baltic Kiss Bar and Restaurant, located in the tranquil gem of historic downtown Point Richmond, features fine dining, full bar, and a commitment to being a quality venue for musicians and artists.

This new configuration of ¡Flamenco Vivo! showcases guest artists from Spain and the Bay Area, and is excited to introduce our greater flamenco community to Point Richmond and to the clientele and management of the Baltic Kiss.

Please join us on Friday, June 9th, for "Generaciones,” an evening of flamenco song, dance, and music with performers representing three generations of flamenco afición y arte. "
